Chettinad cotton comes off handlooms around Karaikudi, in the far south of Tamil Nadu. It is a heavier, tighter cotton than most, which is why it holds a crisp pleat instead of collapsing, and why it softens with every wash rather than wearing thin. The body and the border are woven in different colours on the same loom, not stitched together afterwards. Run your thumb along where the two meet when it arrives: you will feel the weave change, not a seam.
A powder blue ground worked all over with diamond motifs in purple, olive and dusty pink, their edges softly stepped where the colours meet. Small cross-shaped buttas fill the spaces between.
Pure cotton, so it breathes through a Delhi summer. This is an everyday and workday saree, not a wedding one. Pair it with a plain blouse in any of the motif colours and let the body do the work.

Returns
Returns are accepted only for manufacturing defects or transit damage, reported within 24 hours of delivery with photos and an unboxing video. No returns for change of mind or colour preference, so ask us for more photos before you buy.

Saree care
Dry clean for the first few washes, especially sarees with zari. Store folded in a cotton or muslin cloth, away from direct sunlight, and refold along different lines every few months so the zari does not crack at the creases.
