Narayanpet cotton, from Telangana.
Narayanpet sarees are recognised by their temple border: a row of small triangles, like a gopuram skyline, running where the body meets the border. Look closely at that edge when it arrives and you will see the triangles are woven in two colours, not printed or stitched on.
A deep navy body with small gold flower buttas, edged in a magenta temple border with gold zari bands. The pallu has fine zari stripes and large woven mango motifs.
A traditional look that still sits easily in a modern wardrobe. Festive enough for a wedding function or Diwali puja, and comfortable cotton for a long day.

Saree care
Dry clean for the first few washes, especially sarees with zari. Store folded in a cotton or muslin cloth, away from direct sunlight, and refold along different lines every few months so the zari does not crack at the creases.
