Pure Kanjivaram Silk Saree in Mustard Gold with Deep Red Border
Rs. 25,200.00
Woven in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, on a pit loom.
A Kanjivaram is made from three separate pieces. The body, the border and the pallu are each woven on their own and then joined by hand. That join is called korvai, and it is why the border sits in a completely different colour from the body without a single thread of dye bleeding across. Turn the saree over and you can see the interlock.
The silk is pure mulberry, which is what gives it the weight in your hand and the way it holds a pleat. This is a wedding saree. It will outlive the wedding.
